Since Chris and his bandmates were the brainstorm for starting Band Together Pittsburgh, it holds a very special place in our hearts. Band Together Pittsburgh has created an outlet for those individuals who otherwise may never have had an oppportunity to showcase their creative abilities.
It has provided a place for Chris to share his musical talents, not only at Autism Open Mic but at many professional venues over the years. Band Together Pittsburgh even helped with the production of the song, "Differently Abled Man," which made him feel like a rock star!
We love Band Together Pittsburgh because they are there to help lift up, inspire and give confidence to our children, letting them have fun and to be themselves, no questions asked. There is a sense of connection, a place where you are always welcomed with a wonderful support system for both the individuals and their parents.
My son Patrick and I have been so grateful for the presence of Band Together in our lives. It has given him opportunities to perform with people on and off the autism spectrum. Equally importantly, it has been an opportunity for social interactions with like - minded people. For me, just being in a room with other parents of individuals with autism who love music, who feel the same empowerment from music that Patrick does, has been a godsend. I truly value the friendships I have made thanks to Band Together.
Band Together means to us, happiness, good memories, extended family, music, love, inclusion. Band Together helped my son to developed his talents, to give him the tools and the exposure to show his drumming talent. You are an awesome group and I would like more people in more places to know about the group. When words fail music speaks.
My son, Joe, has been a part of Band Together Pittsburgh for several years and the joy and opportunities that this organization has brought to him has truly been life changing! We discovered Band Together just as Joe was at that transition age and desperately needed a creative outlet and social connections. Band Together has given him both of those things and so much more! It is not easy to find something so unique and with people so passionate about enriching the lives of those on the spectrum and we feel so blessed to be a part of it.
I just wanted to thank you for the warm and gracious welcome you gave to my family on Sunday at the open mic. I never expected Cameron to make a bee-line up to the microphone like he did – made me laugh how I had to run to catch up to him! I guess we’ll have to practice a new routine for the next event!

Hello John and Moondog. We sat around the tv and watched the YouTube telecast of the virtual event. Wow!! What an awesome way to cap off this beautiful day!! Thank you so much for doing this and allowing Zayne to participate. We enjoyed the incredible young people you have assembled to express their musical talents.
